Innovation Systems for Resilient Livelihoods

RAEIN-Africa successfully conducted a three day conference titled “Innovation Systems for Resilient Livelihoods: Connecting Theory to Practice” from the 26th to the 28th of August 2013. More than 100 participants drawn from government, donors, civil society, private sector, media, UN Agencies as well as from Universities in SADC attended the Conference. Community representatives from countries where RAEIN-Africa has been implementing programmes were also able to attend the Conference and share their experiences. 


Establishing SANGL

RAEIN–Africa and its Partners identified among others, the need to build capacity in GMO detection (both human and infrastructure) in the SADC region.

RAEIN Africa allocated resources to implement the SANGL project for the period 2009 to 2013 with the main objective of establishing a functional regional Network for GM detection laboratories in the SADC region to support the implementation of National Biosafety Frameworks in compliance with the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
